Article about online activism

An older article talking about online activism. The article talks about how a like or a share is our (Social Media Users) way of showing the world our mark on a specific issue. Social media users have a hard time differentiating between serious issues and trivial issues because the way to support both is exactly the same. A like bottom, a share and so on.

In the real world we would never go to a rally talking about Mad Men. Though serious issues are not necessarily looked at deeply online at least they are being spread at a viral rate.

"Hitting the favorite button on the first episode of “Mad Men” is a remarkably different gesture than expressing digital solidarity with kidnapped children in Africa, but it all sort of looks the same at the keyboard."
